After facing off against Vandal Savage in season 1 of DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow”, the writers have upped the ante for the Legends in terms of villains for season 2. The Legends have been traveling throughout time correcting time aberrations, but Reverse-Flash, Damien Darhk and Malcolm Merlyn keep getting in the way. The three villains have come together to form the Legion of Doom, and at some point they will be adding a fourth member to their ranks in the form of Captain Cold.

Captain Cold was a key member of the team of Legends in season 1 and toward the end of the season he sacrificed himself to save everyone else. His death has left fans to wonder how he will return, but given that “Legends of Tomorrow” is a time travel show the possibilities are wide open. Wentworth Miller recently commented on the return of Captain Cold and he says that we’ll be seeing a more villainous Cold compared to the person he was before he died.

“My sense is that if Snart comes back into the storyline via his present day incarnation, then he’s a straight up villain,” Miller told EW at the Television Critics Association’s press tour. “He hasn’t gone on that first season Legends of Tomorrow journey yet, so when we meet him again — quote unquote alive in 2017 — I imagine that he’s going to be much like when we first met him the first season on The Flash, which I’m looking forward to, because it means I get to arc to a completely different place.”

During the first season of the show, Heat Wave wasn’t all that thrilled to see Captain Cold show off his heroic side. However, one of the big story arcs of season 2 so far has been the exploration of Mick Rory’s heroic side. Recently Snart appeared on “Legends of Tomorrow” as a vision in Mick’s head where he berated him for going soft.

It sounds like we could be seeing more of that as Miller says he believes the incarnation of Captain Cold that we will meet in season 2 would not approve of Mick showing a softer side.

Through all of the ups and downs that Captain Cold has been experienced throughout his adventures in the “Arrowverse” he’s always looked out for himself first. Although he will be joining up with the Legion of Doom, Miller made it a point to remind fans that Captain Cold doesn’t play well with others.

“He’s not a team player. That was certainly his story the first season on Legends, so I expect fireworks,” Miller added. “I look forward to it.”

DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” will return on Tuesday, January 24.
