“Arrow” season 4 is coming to an end soon which means fans are already trying to figure out who the villain is going to be in “Arrow” season 5. Variety caught up with Stephen Amell at the CW Upfronts and although he was very vague when asked about the next big bad, he did offer a small hint.

“I’ve heard that our big bad, our villain, is something that you can really only do once you’re in the fifth, sixth or seventh season of a TV show,” Amell said. “As far as I know, they don’t have superpowers. I’ll tell you that.”

Details on the villain are slim at the moment, but earlier this month a casting call was put out for a character named “James” who will be a series regular in season 5. According to the character description he’s charismatic and would “just as easily shake your hand as your best friend or break your neck as your worst enemy.” So make of that what you will.

Amell also noted how season 5 will be the first season in a few years where “Arrow” doesn’t have to help launch another show.

“‘Supergirl’ is coming, but we don’t have to introduce a new show next year. In Season 2, it was the introduction of ‘The Flash’ and crossovers there, and last year there was a lot with ‘Legends of Tomorrow,’ and we don’t have to do that this year because ‘Supergirl’ is already established,” Amell said. “So I would like to focus on a lot of the stuff that I think ‘Arrow’ does very well.”

The “Arrow” season 4 finale titled “Schism” is set to air on the CW on May 25th.
