Doug Liman Reportedly Exits Gambit, Now Set To Direct Justice League Dark

Things haven’t been going well for FOX’s Gambit film. So far the movie has been struggling to keep a director on board, but it looked like everything was back on track when “Bourne Identity” director Doug Liman signed on for the film.

Now THR is reporting that Liman has left the film in what’s being described as a “mutual parting of ways.” The film was originally supposed to start shooting in 2015, then 2016 and then 2017. Due to the delays Liman started working on a project for Amazon Studios called “The Wall” which recently wrapped production.

Liman may have exited “Gambit” but he won’t be venturing too far from the comic book genre.

Variety is reporting that Doug Liman has signed on to direct DC’s “Justice League Dark.” Michael Gilio is set to write the script. Guillermo Del Toro and Scott Rudin are also attached to the project as producers.

Details on the film are slim at the moment, but the team will reportedly include John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna and Etrigan the Demon.
