Just in case you haven’t heard, “Arrow” will be returning for season 6. The show is currently half way through season 5, and most fans would agree that “Arrow” is once again doing what it does best with the latest season.

The future of the “Arrowverse” as a whole looks bright as “The Flash,” “Supergirl” and DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” have all been renewed as well. During the epic four show crossover, the 100th episode of “Arrow” aired on the CW, and following news of the show’s renewal, Stephen Amell took to Facebook and he thanked fans while looking toward a potential 200th episode in the future.

“We are so lucky. Six seasons… Six!! I’d like to thank WB, the CW, our unmatched Crew, the cast, the producers and most of all, the fans. We are still here because of you. We have a chance to get to 200 episodes, because of you. I have the job of my dreams, because of you. Thank you. A thousand times… thank you.”

David Ramsey who plays Diggle on “Arrow” also reacted to the news by posting a photo on Instagram with the caption, “It’s on.”

It’s on. Season 6…

John Barrowman has been a vital part of “Arrow” from the beginning, and Malcolm Merlyn himself took to Twitter to congratulate everyone involved with the CW shows on the recent renewals.

Likewise, Echo Kellum who plays Curtis Holt on the show seems equally excited.

“Arrow” will be returning for season 6 in 2017, but season 5 will see the traditional island flashbacks come to an end. Showrunner Marc Guggenheim recently noted that the original plan for the series was to run for five seasons, and have the final moment of the show match up with the first moment of the show.

Unfortunately Guggenheim won’t be getting his wish because plans have changed, but the good news is that plans have changed for a good reason.

“Arrow” will return with new episodes on January 25.
