The Script For The Flash Movie Is Going To Be Rewritten From Scratch

Warner Bros. and DC have been working hard to try and get the DCEU off the ground over the past few years, but they haven’t had the best of luck. Although films such as “Batman v Superman” and “Suicide Squad” were a success at the box office, they were met with mixed reactions from fans and critics alike.

This year DC will be releasing “Wonder Woman” and “Justice League” and in the years to come fans will also be treated to standalone films for characters such as Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash.

“The Flash” seems to going through some issues behind the scenes, as the film has already lost its director, and a new director has yet to be announced. It now looks like DC and Warner Bros. will be going back to the drawing board, as Variety reports that the script for “The Flash” is set to be rewritten entirely.

The report notes that Joby Harold has been tapped to write the script. Harold worked as an executive producer on “Edge of Tomorrow” and he also worked as a screenwriter and producer on the upcoming film “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.”

Former director Rick Famuyiwa wrote the original draft of the script, and disagreements with Warner Bros. over the direction of the story reportedly led to his departure.

As of right now it looks like Warner Bros. will be taking their time with “The Flash” but Ezra Miller is still set to play Barry Allen, with Billy Crudup as his father and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West.
