Ruby Rose Reacts To Being Cast As Batwoman In The Arrowverse

A few months ago Stephen Amell made a huge announcement when he revealed that this year’s “Arrowverse” crossover will feature Batwoman and Gotham City.

Shortly after Amell made the announcement, rumors of a possible Batwoman standalone series on the CW began to spread, and now the network has officially found their Kate Kane.

It was recently reported that Ruby Rose will be making her debut as Batwoman in the big “Arrowverse” crossover, and Rose recently confirmed the news on Instagram when she posted the following:

“The Bat is out of the bag and I am beyond thrilled and honored. I’m also an emotional wreck.. because this is a childhood dream. This is something I would have died to have seen on TV when I was a young member of the LGBT community who never felt represented on tv and felt alone and different. Thank you everyone. Thank you god.”

The potential Batwoman series is being written by Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries) and produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns.

As of right now Batwoman hasn’t been ordered to series, but judging from Ruby Rose’s casting it’s probably safe to say the network has high hopes that things are going to work out.

The official description for the CW’s Batwoman reads as follows: “Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”
