Everyone’s trying to figure out what the title will be for “Star Wars: Episode VIII” and now it looks like the title may have leaked. A video which shows a Star Wars poster with the title “Fall of the Resistance” has been making the rounds on the Internet over the past few days. The poster also features the official logo for Star Wars Celebration. You can check out the video below.
John Boyega and Oscar Isaac have both said that “Episode VIII” will be darker than “The Force Awakens.” If “Fall of the Resistance” does turn out to be the real title then it would certainly seem to fit the theme of the film. Star Wars films tend to get darker when it comes to the second entry in a trilogy and it seems likely that The First Order will attempt to crush the Resistance after they blew up Starkiller Base in “The Force Awakens.”
Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to comment on the possible title, but the title is featured on a promotional poster for Star Wars Celebration so it seems likely that we’ll be getting some sort of confirmation at the event if not before. The convention is set to take place from July 15 to July 17 on Europe.
