Joss Whedon has been a huge asset to Marvel over the course of his career, as he’s worked as a writer, he directed the first two Avengers films, and he’s also helped Marvel Studios out in various other ways as a consultant.
But now Joss Whedon is taking on a new challenge as he’s going to be directing a Batgirl film for DC. The world recently found out about Joss Whedon’s Batgirl film, but Kevin Feige told THR he’s known for months, and he completely supports Joss.
“He called. A couple months ago, which he didn’t have to do and was super cool of him and super nice of him,” Feige said. “And we couldn’t be more supportive. We want to see a Joss Whedon Batgirl film be awesome.”
Joss Whedon isn’t the only Marvel Studios alumni that will soon be working with a different studio, as it was also recently announced that Josh Brolin will be playing Cable in “Deadpool 2.” Feige was also asked about the fact that Thanos and Cable will be played by the same actor, and he feels that the characters are different enough so it won’t be a problem.
“We don’t have anything written into our contracts about other roles that people can do,” said Feige when asked about the casting. “Indiana Jones and Han Solo are the same person … it hasn’t been a problem. And I think Thanos and Cable are two very different characters.”
