“Kingsman: The Secret Service” was a surprise hit and it ended up raking in $414 million at the worldwide box office. A sequel has been greenlit and it’s currently in need of a villain. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Julianne Moore is currently in talks to possibly fill that role for the sequel.
Details are slim on the character and all that is known about her at this time is that she’s a villain. However it’s noted that Moore is currently working on several projects and that scheduling conflicts could be an issue. One way or another the villain will likely be decided soon as the film is supposed to start production in May.
Matthew Vaughn will once again be directing with Taron Egerton returning as Eggsy. There’s also been a lot of talk about Colin Firth possibly returning to the role of Harry Hart somehow. Flashback sequences or possibly an evil twin are just two of the rumored scenarios that could bring Firth back for the sequel.
“Kingsman 2” currently has a release date scheduled for June 16, 2017.
