Hayden Christensen Says He Would Return To Star Wars In A Heartbeat

Now that the Star Wars franchise has returned to the big screen, people keep talking Darth Vader this, and Darth Vader that. There were some rumors going around while “The Force Awakens” was being filmed that claimed Anakin Skywalker would appear in the film as a Force ghost. It turns out that was an idea that was actually pitched but it wasn’t something that made it into the film.

The last person to play Anakin Skywalker on the big screen was Hayden Christensen who played Anakin in the last two films of the prequel trilogy. With all this Darth Vader talk going around Christensen was asked what he thinks about the future of the franchise and he revealed that he does keep up with what’s going in the Star Wars universe.

“I’m very excited to see what happens with it, I’m sure they’ll take it to very interesting places. I’m keeping my tabs on it, they sort of keep me abreast a little bit as to what’s going on in that world, but I don’t have any involvement in the movies anymore, but they were obviously a big part of my life for a little while. So, I’m very curious”

Anakin Skywalker may have been cut from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” but that doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t appear in other Star Wars films in the future. It is rumored that Darth Vader will be a part of “Rogue One” after all. So would Hayden Christensen return to the role of Anakin Skywalker if he got the call?

“Oh absolutely, in a heartbeat for sure,” Christensen said during an interview. “Being a part of that world was a huge deal for me and it was a good four/five years of my life. I have fond memories and good friendships from that time. If they ever gave me the call I would sign up in a heartbeat.”
