Harley Quinne and The Joker have been one of the most iconic couples in comic book history. Unfortunately they’re not exactly a happy couple. Harley loves The Joker and The Joker treats her like dirt.
“Suicide Squad” director David Ayer recently revealed to Empire that a part of the story will focus on Harley trying to break free from The Joker.
“It’s about her breaking free of The Joker and becoming this fully actualized, independent person. That really is a metaphor for everyone’s journey here.” Ayer said.
Will Smith also alluded to a possible love triangle between Deadshot, Harley Quinn and The Joker.
“Harley is the biggest troublemaker, but Deadshot’s actually eyeballing her a little bit. There’s a pretty ragged romantic triangle there.” Will Smith said.
Smith also shed some light on how Deadshot ends up becoming a member of the Suicide Squad.
“As the movie opens, he has a really big career score. He’s looking to turn over a new leaf with his daughter after the hit, but it goes wrong. It goes terribly, terribly wrong. And it lands him in Belle Reve for life.” Smith explained.
Sounds like Deadshot is going to have his work cut out for him when “Suicide Squad” opens everywhere August 5, 2016.
