“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has been a divisive film to say the least. The movie got roasted by critics before it officially hit the theaters and although it’s made a ton of money, fans seem to be split on the film as well. One of the things people keep targeting when they criticize the film is Zack Snyder’s direction. Many fans were thrilled to see Batman and Superman on screen together for the first time ever, but some fans aren’t so thrilled about the tone that Zack Snyder has set for the DC film universe.
Zack is set to take on DC’s biggest film yet when “Justice League” starts filming next month. There’s no way that’s going to change, but a fan from the US has started a petition in an attempt have Zack Snyder removed from the director’s chair. The petition has received over 1,000 signatures so far and the description reads as follows:
“Zack Snyder is not the person to bring the Justice League to the big screen. He’s had two chances now to adapt DC characters and has produced middling results.
Even if you loved Man of Steel and BvS. There has to come a time when WB and DC want someone at the helm that can create something that WON’T divide people in such a way.”
Another fan in India has started a petition to have Zack removed not only from “Justice League” but from the DCEU entirely. The description reads as follows:
“This guy has already doomed the franchise with two critical flops in Man of Steel and Batman v Superman.He’s a great visual artist,but cannot tell a good story.The only chance of redemption for DCEU is to hire a director who’s not as polarizing as Snyder,who understands the characters well,doesn’t make them roam away from their mythos and balance the tone of the future movies.”
Despite the mixed reaction to “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” it’s highly unlikely that Warner Bros. is going to question their decision to let Zack Snyder call the shots. The film is breaking box office records and the fans that did enjoy it seem to be quite passionate about their love for the film. But as these petitions show, the fans who didn’t enjoy the film are equally as passionate about expressing their views as well.
