Elizabeth Olsen On If Quicksilver Will Return To The MCU, Scarlet Witch In Civil War And More

Elizabeth Olsen who plays Scarlet Witch in the MCU recently spoke to USA Today about her role in “Captain America: Civil War” and more. During the interview she talked about how they shot two different scenes for Quicksilver’s ending in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” to try and keep things under wraps. She also references the death of Agent Coulson when talking about the possibility of Quicksilver coming back. See what she had to say below.

“Yeah, but it’s also like a superhero movie. It’s insane but they just made a whole television series (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) about a dead guy. (Laughs) So who knows? But we did always know how that was going to end. At the same time, they had to shoot two endings because they didn’t want the crew to know or want it to get out. They did an incredible job of keeping that under wraps.” Olsen said.

With so many fake out style deaths in comic book movies it’s not hard to believe that Quicksilver could certainly return to the MCU. However, all those deaths means that eventually someone has to stay dead and it might just be him.

She also talked a little bit about the role Scarlet Witch will play in Civil War and how she’s very much a “wild card.”

“She’s coming into her own and starting to understand and have conflict with how she wants to use her abilities. It’s a dramatic conflict within her and obviously there’s conflict within the (Avengers) as well. I like that they didn’t release Scarlet Witch in the promo photos for the teams — it places her as being a wild card, and I like her having that kind of edge that people don’t know what she’s capable of. They can fear her because she is so incredibly powerful in a different way than the rest of the heroes for the most part. I like playing that role within the gang.” Olsen added.

“Captain America: Civil War” hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
