“The Crow” reboot has had a tough time getting started over the past few years, but it looks like the film will finally be going into production in a few months. The Wrap is reporting that Relativity’s reboot of “The Crow” is set to begin production in January of 2017.
It was reported back in August that Jason Momoa was in talks to play Eric Draven. Momoa met with director Corin Hardy and shared a photo of himself drinking beer with him and posted a caption saying, “The only way to officially seal the deal as men Is a pint of black beauty.”
Momoa is currently busy filming “Justice League” so it looks like he could potentially have a busy few months ahead of him.
“The Crow” will focus on the story of Eric Draven which was told in the 1991 film adaptation of James O’Barr’s comic. The film starred Brandon Lee and Alex Proyas. The reboot is said to be a closer adaptation of the source material.
Relativity filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2015, and the company emerged from bankruptcy earlier this year. The studio is reportedly making “The Crow” a priority in hopes that it will be able to get the company back on track and improve their overall image in Hollywood.
