Fans were left with a lot of questions coming out of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” But the biggest question fans want answered surrounds Rey, who she is and who she might be related to. Everyone’s got a theory. Some people think she’s a Skywalker, others a Kenobi, some a Solo and there’s also a theory that she may have been created by the force itself similar to how Anakin Skywalker was created. Eventually we’re going to get the answer and “Episode IX” director Colin Trevorrow recently told ET that he feels the answers we’re going to get regarding Rey’s identity will be satisfying.

“We’re going to make sure that that answer is deeply and profoundly satisfying. Rey is a character that is important in this universe, not just in the context ofThe Force Awakens, but in the entire galaxy. She deserves it. We’ll make sure that that answer is something that feels like it was something that happened a long time ago, far away, and we’re just telling you what happened.” Trevorrow said.

He also mentioned that he’s not creating a lot of new characters which seems to suggest, that yes, Rey is related to a character we already know.

“What’s interesting is I’m not creating a host of new characters,” he revealed. “I have a lot of characters that people really love that we’re going to make sure are all honored. No one’s going to be left behind.” he added.

The yet to be titled “Episode IX” is set to be released in 2019.
