Charlie Hunnam Doesn’t Want To Play The Green Arrow

Stephen Amell is holding things down for the Green Arrow on television, but due to the fact that DC’s television and film universes aren’t connected, it seems highly unlikely that we’ll ever see him appear as the character on the big screen.

Although there don’t seem to be any plans for Green Arrow to join the DCEU anytime soon, fans have several favorites when it comes to potential casting choices.

The frontrunner when fan casting discussions come up always seems to be Charlie Hunnam, likely because he bares a very strong resemblance to comic book Oliver Queen. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the fans who want to see him play the Green Arrow are going to get their wish, because he recently told Yahoo that he’s not interested in the role.

“I didn’t grow up a comic book fan and I haven’t really seen any of those Marvel films or the Batman films,” Hunnam told Yahoo Movies. “It’s just not really my taste. I must confess I don’t really know who the Green Arrow is. It’s not part of my vision for my career or what I aspire to.”

Sorry Charlie Hunnam fans, but unless someone or something is able to change his mind, it doesn’t look like Hunnam will be putting on the green suit.

Looks like fans are just going to have to find a new frontrunner for the Green Arrow on the big screen, and enjoy Stephen Amell’s interpretation on the small screen in the meantime.
