Beloved Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher reportedly suffered a heart attack earlier today according to TMZ. The report notes that Carrie Fisher was on a plane from London to LAX and went into cardiac arrest about 15 minutes before the flight landed.
People on board the plane administered CPR to Carrie Fisher, and luckily an EMT on the plane was able to offer assistance. The flight landed at LAX around noon, and Carrie Fisher was quickly rushed to the hospital.
Not much is known about Carrie Fisher’s condition at this time, but USA Today did reach out to the Los Angeles Fire Department, and a spokesman confirmed that they did respond to a call at LAX, and paramedics “aggressively treated” the patient as she was being transported to the hospital.
Actress Anna Akana noted that she was also on the plane, and confirmed that Carrie Fisher stopped breathing during the flight.
