When the original Star Wars trilogy wrapped up with “Return of the Jedi”Han Solo and Princess Leia looked like they were going to live happily ever after. But when “The Force Awakens” was released last year it was revealed that Han and Leia had become estranged.
In between “Jedi” and “Force” Han and Leia had a son, named Ben, who later defected to the Dark Side and became Kylo Ren. Surely Ben’s transformation put a strain on the relationship, but we never really got a clear answer as to why Han and Leia split up.
Last weekend Carrie Fisher spoke about Han and Leia’s relationship at the The Saskatoon Comic & Entertainer Expo, and Fisher shared her take on why things didn’t work out.
“He smuggled way too much. And girls, I know you don’t want your husband smuggling, do you? [And] hanging out with the hairy guy too often. I think there are a lot of problems with that. He wouldn’t take me on that hyperspace thing enough… [that’s a] euphemism.”
Carrie Fisher is one of a kind, that’s for sure, and you can see her on the big screen once again when “Episode VIII” hits theaters in December of 2017.
