Another new actor has joined the cast of “Arrow” season 5. Deadline reports that David Meunier will be joining the show and he’ll be playing Ishmael Gregor.
David Meunier is best known for his roles on shows such as “Justified” and NBC’s “Aquarius.” His character, Ishmael Gregor is being described as, “the slick and intimidating Pakhan (“Godfather”) of the Bratva, whom Anatoly (David Nykl) reports and takes a special interest in Oliver Queen.”
In the comics the character of Ishmael Gregor is known for obtaining the magical powers of the demon Sabbac. However, it seems unlikely that we’ll be seeing a lot of magic in season 5.
“Arrow” season 4 introduced magic through characters like Damien Darhk, and John Constantine. But the cast and crew of “Arrow” have said several times that the series will be getting back to its roots in season 5. The upcoming season is being described as “dark” and “gritty.”
“Arrow” season 5 will premiere on the CW on Wednesday, October 5.
