SPOILERS AHEAD!

Tuesday’s episode of “The Flash” featured a huge reveal as they finally pulled the mask off of Zoom. When we last saw Zoom he had followed Team Flash through the breach to Earth-1. When he reached the opening he put his hand through Jay Garrick’s chest and then pulled Jay back to Earth-2.

At the end of this week’s episode we saw Zoom arrive back at his lair on Earth-2 carrying Jay Garrick’s body. The man in the iron mask looked on as Zoom dropped Jay’s body on the ground. Zoom then pulled back his mask, and revealed himself to be another doppelganger of Jay Garrick.

Earlier in the season Jay Garrick of Earth-1 was introduced on the show as Hunter Zolomon. Producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed to Entertainment Weekly and confirmed that Zoom is indeed Hunter Zolomon.

“Zoom’s identity has been revealed: He is Hunter Zolomon, a.k.a Jay Garrick,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told EW.

So it’s been confirmed that Zoom is Hunter Zolomon. But exactly how that works has yet to be revealed.

“How all of that plays out and what’s actually happening, we’ll leave for after the break,” Kreisberg added.

But Kreisberg went on to talk about how Hunter Zolomon betrayed Team Flash by gaining their trust. So apparently the man we’ve known as Jay Garrick all season has actually been Zolomon all along.

“It’s an even larger betrayal than last year in some ways, because they’re all going to feel like they should’ve been inoculated against it. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.” Andrew said.

Still, we can’t help but wonder how does all of this work? We saw Zoom put a hand through Jay’s chest which could have been some sort of trick. But at the end of the episode we say Zoom drop the body of Jay Garrick on the ground in front of the man in the iron mask. So there’s still some mystery surrounding all of the fine details here.

Andrew Kreisberg also emphasized that in addition to the mystery of Zoom, things are really going to pick up with the man in the iron mask.

“The identity of the man in the [iron] mask is, in some ways, probably an even bigger surprise than this one, if you can imagine it. It’s a new mystery to pull you through the season. Barry swore he wasn’t going to leave him behind. Something tells me Barry’s going to make good on that promise.” he said.

“The Flash” season 2 just kicked things into high gear. What are your theories on where it will go when it returns from the break? Sound off below.
