Zack Snyder On Why He Didn’t Consider Casting Grant Gustin As The Flash In ‘Justice League’

Fans didn’t respond well when they found out that Ezra Miller would be playing The Flash on the big screen. Many fans have gotten used to seeing Grant Gustin in the role and they’ve become attached to his version of Barry Allen. “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” director  Zack Snyder recently spoke to the New York Daily News about the controversy and why he never considered Grant Gustin for the role.

“I just don’t think it was a good fit. I’m very strict with this universe and I just don’t see a version where…that (tone is) not our world.” Snyder said.

It’s not really hard to see where he’s coming from. “Batman V Superman” looks like it’s going to be much darker in tone when compared to “The Flash” TV series. Snyder added that DC has made a commitment to the multi-verse so Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen exists in a different universe than Ezra Miller’s.

DC has already played with the multiverse a little bit by sending Team Flash to Earth-2. Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen is also set to cross over into an alternate universe next week when he appears on “Supergirl.” As of right now DC hasn’t announced any plans to have their film and television universes crossover, but with the multiverse in play it’s not entirely out of the question for it to happen down the road.

“Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
