Colossus has been a staple in the X-Men universe for quite some time. But unfortunately the character hasn’t been given any backstory within the films. According to Alex Tricoteux who will be playing Colossus in “Deadpool” that’s all about to change.
“Yeah, I think you’re going to get to see more of who Colossus is. Like I said, we kept him really traditional to the comic book. So yes, I think people will get a better sense of who he is. But I think there’s still a lot more to be told about him. Colossus has been around in the comics since the ’70s, so I mean, I think you could do your own movie on him. Yeah, you’re going to get to see a little bit more of who he is and kind of his outlook on the world.” Tricoteux told said to Tech Times.
It’s been confirmed that “Deadpool” takes place in the same cinematic universe as X-Men, so it will be interesting to see how the events in “Deadpool” will play out in future films. In any case, it sounds like Colussus is going to be a big player in “Deadpool” when it hits theaters next year.
