After a long wait and a lot of anticipation, “Deadpool” is finally here. The movie is already receiving rave reviews from critics and fans alike thanks to its over the top style and raunchy sense of humor.
But some countries aren’t all that keen on the film as India has only agreed to screen a censored version and China has banned the film completely. Now Uzbekistan has joined the list of countries that are refusing to screen the film according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“We won’t screen Deadpool as it has an age restriction and is not in line with ethical norms in our society,” a spokesman for MegaCinema said.
To be fair, the film is definitely not for the weak at heart. It promised to be over the top, sexual, extremely violent and pretty much offensive in every way. We can tell you that after seeing the movie for ourselves, it definitely makes good on those promises.
Congratulations “Deadpool” you’ve already been banned in Uzbekistan and denied release in China. It should be interesting to see if more countries end up banning the film before all is said and done.
