It’s been a bit of a rocky road so far for “Deadpool 2” as the film lost its original director, but things seem to be back on track now that “John Wick” director David Leitch has joined the film. “Deadpool” director Tim Miller is no longer part of the dream team, but it looks like we will be seeing some familiar faces in the sequel.

Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead both had key roles in “Deadpool” and according to writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, both will be returning for “Deadpool 2.” The duo helped Deadpool in his battle against Ajax in the first film, but judging from what Wernick and Rheese had to say about their roles in the sequel, it doesn’t sound like they will be quite as involved this time around.
During an interview with Collider, Wernick and Rheese revealed the following:
PAUL WERNICK: I can’t say how much they are…
RHETT REESE: I think we can say. Yeah, they’ll be in the sequel.
WERNICK: Yeah, they’ll make at least an appearance.
So far Cable and Domino have both been confirmed for “Deadpool 2” but the roles have not been cast. It was rumored a few months ago that Kyle Chandler was being considered for Cable, and other names such as Dolph Lundgren and Ron Perlman have also pitched themselves for the role.
“Deadpool 2” is expected to begin production in early 2017 and it’s expected to hit theaters in 2018.
