Get your tissues ready ladies and gentlemen, it appears that one of pop culture’s most infamous couples have decided to go their separate ways.
PEOPLE is reporting that Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift have broken up, and according to a source the split was amicable.
Hiddleston and Swift have been a hot topic over the past few months after they went public with their relationship back in June. The 35 year old Tom Hiddleston and 26 year old Taylor Swift looked quite happy together, but many fans thought that their relationship was nothing more than a publicity stunt.
“Well, um, how best to put this? The truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together and we’re very happy. Thanks for asking,” Hiddleston told THR back in July. “That’s the truth. It’s not a publicity stunt.”
Pictures of the couple together seemed to surface online constantly, and it appeared that Tom Hiddleston had no problem showing affection for Taylor Swift in public. According to one source that reached out to US Weekly, that was part of the problem.
“She was the one to put the brakes on the relationship. Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with. Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn’t listen to her concerns when she brought them up.”
The source added that Hiddleston and Swift still get along great, and they will remain friends.
