In season 2 of “The Flash” Barry Allen faced off against Zoom, who turned out to be Hunter Zolomon from Earth-2 masquerading as the Earth-2 version of Jay Garrick. Once Zoom’s identity was revealed, he challenged Barry to a race, and Zoom was mauled by Time Wraiths. As he was being caiired away by the Time Wraiths, fans couldn’t help but notice that Zoom was starting to look a lot like the Black Flash.
Teddy Sears recently spoke to TV Guide about the possibility of him returning as Black Flash, and he’s confirmed that there’s interest in having the character appear on the show.
“Zoom has been transformed into Black Flash, who has quite a place in the mythology of The Flash. He’s like the grim reaper for speedsters,” Sears said. “Andrew Kreisberg, the head writer and EP, has talked about their interest in having a Black Flash return at some point in the series.”
However, the timing would have to be right as Sears he’s currently wrapped up with FOX due to his role on “24: Legacy.”
“It would be a lot of fun to drop back into that world. We’ll just have to see if the guys on the other end feel the same way. It sounds like they do, but it’s funny – now I belong to Fox, so there’s lots of people that would have to give a thumbs up. But I really hope so.”
A few months ago during an interview, Andrew Kreisberg also teased a Black Flash appearance.
“Obviously we did that on purpose,” Andrew Kreisberg said. “There aren’t any immediate plans for that, but you can’t keep a good Black Flash down, so I’m sure we’ll be seeing him in the future.”
