“Suicide Squad” might not be doing well with critics, but it seems to be doing well at the box office.
The film broke the record for a Thursday opening in August with $20.5 million dollars in ticket sales. “Suicide Squad” beat out the previous record which was held by Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” with $11.2 million.
“Suicide Squad” is expected to make $140 million in its first opening weekend. There’s been a lot of hype behind the film and although it’s getting slammed by critics, the general consensus among fans so far seems to be that they enjoyed it.
If “Suicide Squad” does manage to bring in $140 million it will have the third highest grossing opening weekend in North America this year behind “Civil War” and “Batman V Superman.”
