Star Wars Episode VIII Has A Much Darker Script According To John Boyega

Star Wars is all the rage right now thanks to the fact that “The Force Awakens” is crushing box office records and “Rogue One” is also on the way later this year. But now that most people have seen “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” everyone has a lot of questions. Hopefully we’ll be getting answers when Episode VIII rolls around in 2017.

Regardless of what Episode VIII will and/or will not answer, the movies script is already a hot topic in Hollywood. J.J. Abrams recently said that he regrets turning down the chance to direct the film now that he’s read the script. John Boyega, who plays Finn in “The Force Awakens” is also giving us a little bit of info regarding what we can expect from the film.

When talking to Vogue about the script, Boyega noted that it’s darker than its predecessor.

“It’s great. Much darker, but we’re very excited.” Boyega said.

Boyega also mentioned that filming will be starting soon which means he’ll have to keep his mouth shut during interviews. When asked how it feels to not have to be so secretive about Episode VII, Boyega said the following:

“It feels good. But now, we just starting work on Star Wars VIII, the next film, so I’m back to keeping secrets again.” He added.

In the tradition of keeping secrets, Boyega wasn’t able to get into the gritty details, but he did mention that Finn will be getting much more physical next time around.

“No, for this film we really just took it scene by scene, there wasn’t a huge regime. My part in the next film will be much more physical so I might be in the gym a bit more.” John Boyega told Vogue.

We’ll just have to wait and see what kind of trouble Finn gets himself into when Episode VIII premieres on May 26, 2017.
