There has been a lot of hype behind “Spider-Man: Homecoming” after Tom Holland’s portrayal of Spider-Man received near universal praise from fans and critics who saw “Captain America: Civil War” which was a huge film for Marvel Studios. “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is another movie that will likely be huge for Marvel Studios and the film recently wrapped up principal photography in Atlanta.

Director James Gunn noted on Facebook that the “Guardians” crew is passing the Marvel baton onto the “Spider-Man” crew as they begin their shoot in Atlanta. Gunn posted the following on Facebook:

“Many blessings today to the star of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland, and the film’s director, Jon Watts (standing in here for Jon is some dude that was passing by), as they begin their shoot in Atlanta just as we are ending ours. I don’t think we could pass the Marvel baton to two nicer, better guys who care more about what they’re doing. Kill it!”

Quite a few “Spider-Man: Homecoming” casting announcements have surfaced over the past few weeks and three more actors have joined the cast according to The Hollywood Reporter. THR is reporting that Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and J.J. Totah have all joined the film. As of right now it’s not known who they will be playing in the film.

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
