Paul Feig’s “Ghostbusters” reboot is kicking into high gear as the film start shooting in Boston this week. Though the movie will be shooting in Boston, Boston is being used as New York where the fictional story will take place.
The Boston Herald recently revealed some details about the film surrounding Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig’s characters. You can read them below, but be aware a spoiler warning is in effect.
“[Kristen] Wiig and [Melissa] McCarthy play a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. Flash forward a few years and Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia U. (Like the original, the story takes place in New York City, even though it’s being shot in Boston.) Which is pretty sweet, until her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia. Wiig reunites with McCarthy and the other two proton pack-packing phantom wranglers, and she gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.”
Sounds pretty interesting. Paul Feig also posted the photo below on Twitter featuring some green slime. Hopefully this means we’ll be getting a Slimer cameo at some point. It’s been too long.
