Mr. Sinister Confirmed For Wolverine 3

X-Men fans have been waiting a long time to see Mr. Sinister on the big screen, but fans aren’t going to have to wait much longer.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” was recently released on digital, and the digital release contained extra content such as bonus features, deleted scenes and commentary. At the end of “X-Men: Apocalypse” there was a post-credits scene, and director Bryan Singer confirmed to fans via the commentary for “Apocalypse” that the scene was indeed meant to signal the arrival of Mr. Sinister in “Wolverine 3.”

In “Apocalypse” the X-Men end up at Alkali Lake as Wolverine is escaping from the Weapon X facility. The post-credits scene took fans back to Alkali Lake as a team of people inspect the facility. Before the scene ends a man grabs of vial of blood labeled “Weapon X” then places it in a briefcase labeled “Essex Corp.”

Fans who are familiar with the X-Men universe picked up on the tease noting that Essex Corp. is owned by Nathaniel Essex a.k.a. Mr. Sinister, but it wasn’t clear if he was being teased for the next Wolverine film, or a future X-Men film.

As of right now there have been no official announcements in regards to who will play Mr. Sinister. However, it’s been speculated that Robert E. Grant could be playing the character. When he was cast back in April his character was simply described as a “mad scientist” and Mr. Sinister definitely fits that description.

Of course confirmation that Mr. Sinister is going to appear in the film doesn’t necessarily mean that he will be the main villain of the movie. We’ll just have to wait and see.

A fan recently asked director James Mangold about “Wolverine 3” and Mangold told the fan that we will, “hear and see things very soon” so hopefully that means a trailer is on the way.

“Wolverine 3” will hit theaters on March 3, 2017.
