Marvel’s Cloak And Dagger Series Coming To Freeform, Official Synopsis Released

According to Variety, Freeform as greenlit “Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” with a straight-to-series order. The show will be based on the Marvel characters Tyrone Johnson a.k.a. Cloak and Tandy Bowen a.k.a. Dagger and it’s being described as a romance that’s intended for young adults. There is currently no premiere date for the show and the search is currently underway for a writer. You can read the official synopsis below.

This exciting new series is an adaptation of the beloved Marvel characters aimed squarely at young adults. This live-action interracial romance follows Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart—but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.

This will be Marvel’s first television series on Freeform which is the sister network of ABC. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” currently airs Tuesdays on ABC and a spinoff called “Marvel’s Most Wanted” based on Adrianne Palicki’s Bobbi Morse and Nick Blood’s Lance Hunter is currently in development.
