Hugh Jackman is hanging up the claws next year when the third Wolverine movie hits theaters in March. He’s announced that he will be retiring from the role after this film which is heavily rumored to be influenced by the “Old Man Logan” story. Surely Hugh Jackman and the writers have some surprises in mind for the film. Could one of those surprises be Sabretooth?
Last night at the Oscars, MTV’s Josh Horowitz caught up with Liev Schreiber and asked him if we’ll be seeing him reprise his role as Victor Creed in the movie. Schreiber was quiet when it came to the details, but he did confirm that he’s talked to Hugh Jackman about stepping back into the role.
“We talked about it. I don’t know. He’s mentioned it to me. The Old Man Logan story — that’s appealing. That’s something that I can do. Old, being the operative word.” Schreiber said.
Schreiber only made one appearance as the character in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.” The film wasn’t exactly a movie that was loved by the fans but almost everyone agrees Schreiber gave one hell of a performance as Sabretooth. Hugh Jackman’s run as Wolverine is ending so it would be nice to see Sabretooth get a proper send off as well.
Here’s to hoping that we get to see Jackman and Schreiber duke it out as Wolverine and Sabretooth one more time. “Wolverine 3” hits theaters on March 3, 2017.
