“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” recently hit theaters, and it seems that the film has divided audiences. Some fans loved the film, others hated it, but regardless of which side of the fence you stand on, it’s hard to ignore the fact that the movie left many of the plot points set up by “The Force Awakens” untouched.
Fans did learn a little bit more about Kylo Ren’s backstory, but we didn’t find out anything new about Snoke or the Knights of Ren.
At this point fans still have a lot of questions regarding the Knights of Ren, but director Rian Johnson recently told Empire that there just wasn’t enough room in the movie to include them.
“We have a very full movie already there literally was just not room for another element. I guess I could’ve used them in place of the Praetorian guards but then it would feel like wasting them because all those guards had to die. And if Kylo had some kind of connection to them it would’ve added a complication that wouldn’t have helped the scene… Truth is, I just didn’t see a place for them in the movie.”
It will be interesting to see where the story goes from here as J.J. Abrams is set to return for “Episode IX” so hopefully this is a plot point that he will end up revisiting.
