There was a lot of hype and excitement for “Jurassic World” and everyone assumed it would do well at the box office, but probably not this well. Over the past few days “Jurassic World” became the first film ever to make over $500 million dollars during its opening weekend as it raked in a total of $524 million.
The film took in $208 million domestically knocking off the previous record set by “The Avengers” with $207 million. The film then took in another $316 million internationally to set a new record.
“Jurassic World” had a strong marketing campaign and there’s little doubt that we’ll be seeing another installment in the franchise since this one is already a massive success. The film seems to be getting mixed reviews from critics but it’s also getting a lot of praise from fans on social media.
