“Kingsman: The Golden Circle” is set to hit theaters in the fall, and anticipation for the sequel is at an all time high. The first film impressed audiences all over the world with its over the top action and comedic timing, and it sounds like the sequel will be raising the stakes in every way possible.
Director Matthew Vaughn recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the film and he noted that he wanted the movie to maintain a sense of originality which is tough to do when making a sequel. He revealed that fans will see a mechanical attack dog and an electric cowboy-style lasso that is capable of slicing through bad guys.
The first film had an impressive cast and this time around Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, and even Elton John will be added to the mix. Leading man Taron Egerton who plays Eggsy noted that this time around it will be more an ensemble film.
“If the first Kingsman was Captain America,” Egerton says, “then this is very much The Avengers now. For the first one, I felt like if I wasn’t really good then it wouldn’t work. This time, the story still unfolds through my eyes but this is still a true ensemble piece. And also, I’ve had a bit more experience. I’m not asking the crew what every piece of camera equipment does.”
One of the biggest mysteries surrounding the film is whether or not Colin Firth’s Harry Hart will be returning. Harry appeared to get killed off in the first movie, but in the film world anything is possible. Although Firth was spotted on the set, he told EW that he can’t reveal anything at this point, but the we’re keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that Hart will be returning for more than just a flashback.
