It’s a big week for DC because “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is hitting theaters and it looks like the movie is going to be huge. ComicBook.com caught up with DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns while he was walking the red carpet at the premiere and he revealed some pretty interesting information about DC’s upcoming plans. According to Geoff Johns, Booster Gold is a character that will be making his presence felt in the near future.
“You’ll see [Booster Gold] very soon, and there’s talks about…there’s actually a lot of plans for Booster Gold, one of my favorite characters. But yeah, Booster Gold fans, you will definitely be happy with what we’ve got coming up in the years ahead.” Johns told Comicbook.com.
This isn’t the first time Booster Gold’s name has popped up in recent months. Back in September of 2015 there was a rumor going around claiming that DC was developing a buddy cop type movie with Booster Gold and and the Blue Beetle. According to the rumor, Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash) would be directing the film and producing with Zak Penn (The Avengers, X2: X-Men United) writing the script.
It’s tough to say if Geoff Johns was referring to the rumored movie or something else entirely. It’s always possible that he could be referencing an upcoming appearance in the comics. But it’s also worth noting that TV Line recently reported that a “beloved hero from the DC canon” will be joining “Legends of Tomorrow” during the show’s season finale on May 19. Many fans have been both speculating and hoping that it could be Booster Gold.
So Geoff Johns has confirmed that we’ll be seeing Booster Gold “very soon” and with all these rumors floating around it’s anybody’s guess as to where he might pop up. Where do you guys think we’ll be seeing Booster Gold? On the big screen? On the small screen? Somewhere else? Sound off in the comments below.
