Casting for the next James Bond has been a pretty hot topic lately. People keep talking about Idris Elba, Damian Lewis or possibly even Tom Hardy taking on the role but everyone seems to be getting ahead of themselves. Daniel Craig isn’t stepping down anytime soon as he recently revealed to The Daily Mail that he’s got one more film on his contract and he sounds open to doing more.
“It’s getting harder. But such is life. I’ll keep going as long as I’m physically able. I’m contracted for one more – but I’m not going to make predictions.” Craig said.
Despite how physical the role of James Bond can be, Daniel Craig still expressed his excitement over the fact that he gets to be a part of it.
“These movies don’t get made very often. It’s just the fourth time for me, a spit in the ocean. If you don’t get excited about making a movie of this size with this cast, with Sam Mendes… then go home.” Craig added.
It is fun to speculate who will take the role next, but it’s also nice to be reminded that Daniel Craig isn’t ready to step down. Craig has brought his own uniqueness to the role and it’s safe to say that when he does finally put down the Walther PPK he’s going to leave behind quite the legacy.
“Spectre” opens in theaters on November 6th, 2015.
