A lot of big things have happened in the MCU following “Captain America: Civil War” and this week fans are going to be seeing Captain America for the first time since his big battle with Iron Man, and he’ll be looking a little different.
When the first photos and trailers for “Infinity War” were released, fans couldn’t stop talking about Steve Rogers and his grizzly beard.
Yes, Steve is looking a little more rugged nowadays, but most people seem to be loving the change.
Chris Evans recently spoke to USA Today about what motivated Steve to grow a beard, and he noted that events of “Civil War” changed Steve Rogers in an interesting way.
“He’s such a monastic character and he has such a quotidian approach to his existence,” the actor says of his star-spangled Avenger. “I imagine when he wakes up in the morning, there is a routine. Part of that is in his nature, part of that is just to keep his sanity, and that all kind of goes out the window a little bit after (2016’s Captain America: Civil War). You see a guy who doesn’t stop caring but just puts down some of that obligation.”
Not only did Steve put down the razor needed to shave his face, but he also dropped his iconic shield at the end of “Civil War.”
Luckily he’ll be getting a new shield in “Infinity War” but it will be up to fans to decided what’s more dangerous – his new shield, or his new beard.
