The CW is already loaded up with DC shows, and it’s about to get one more. A Black Lightning series has been in development for a little while now, and Deadline is reporting that the CW has officially ordered the show to go to series.

“Black Lightning” has been picked up by the network, and you can get the rundown on the show via the synopsis below:

“Black Lightning centers on Jefferson Pierce. He made his choice: He hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter, Jennifer hellbent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend Black Lightning. Cress Williams, Nefessa Williams, China Anne McClain and Christine Adams star.”

It’s going to get crowded on the CW next season as “Supergirl,” “The Flash,” “Arrow,” and DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” have all been renewed for new seasons.

“Black Lightning” will reportedly debut on the network mid-season 2018.
