Arrow Producer Says Laurel Lance Is Back For “A Bunch Of Episodes”

Katie Cassidy returned to the “Arrowverse” as Laurel Lance, or at least someone posing as Laurel Lance during the “Arrow” midseason finale, and it seems like most viewers are happy to have her back.

There are still a lot of questions surrounding the return of Laurel Lance, but it sounds like we’ll be seeing a lot more of her in the future. During the Television Critics Association press tour over the weekend, producer Greg Berlanti noted that Laurel is currently in three shows, which means she will be appearing on more than just “Arrow.”

“We made a deal at the end of the season to bring her back for a bunch of episodes,” Berlanti said via CBR. “Katie is a part of the fabric of the show. Because the show, like a comic book, can move in different ways, and characters go and come, everybody that’s ever been a part of the key and core ensemble has always had a place at the table for our show. There’s the capacity for her to be [in all four shows]. At this moment, she’s in three of them.”

“Arrow” will dig deeper into the Laurel Lance storyline when the show returns, but the most popular theory right now is that this Laurel Lance is actually Black Siren from Earth-2.

Black Siren previously made her debut in “The Flash” season 2, and if this version of Laurel does turn out to be Black Siren, then it sounds like we haven’t seen the last of her on the show.

Greg Berlanti mentioned that Katie Cassidy is signed on for three shows with the third likely being “Legends of Tomorrow” as a Katie Cassidy appearance on “Supergirl” wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense right now. Given the fact that “Legends of Tomorrow” has somewhat of a rotating cast, it should be interesting to see what role she plays on that show.

“Arrow” will return on Wednesday, January 25.
