Marvel’s “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is set to wrap up its 4th season over the next few weeks, as fans anxiously wait to find out if the show will be renewed for season 5. Recently the characters from “S.H.I.E.L.D.” have been spending their time living in the Framework, but it sounds like things are going to take a turn for the worse when “The Return” airs on May.
The official synopsis for the upcoming episode has been released and it teases that Coulson and company will come to find out that the Framework is the least of their worries, and they’ll be forced to deal with an even greater threat.

“The Return” – In the exciting penultimate episode leading into next week’s season finale, Coulson and the team’s victory in the Framework is short-lived, as an even deadlier enemy looms against them all, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, MAY 9 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network.
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie and John Hannah as Holden Radcliffe.
