It would be pretty awesome if we could see Caity Lotz or Katie Cassidy from “Arrow” play the Black Canary on the big screen wouldn’t it? Well unfortunately that won’t be happening because DC has made it clear that they’re keeping their TV and film universes separate. However DC does have plans to bring the Black Canary to the big screen for the Justice League movie and a possible Birds of Prey spinoff.
Accoeding to Latino Review, Warner Bros. and DC already have their eyes on two actresses for the role. Abbey Lee who you might recognize from “Mad Max: Fury Road” is said to be a front runner along with Alona Tal of “Supernatural” fame.
According to the rumor Black Canary will make her debut in “Justice League: Part 1” which is due out in 2017. The previously mentioned “Birds of Prey” film is also supposedly “in development.”
