The Fantastic Four certainly haven’t had the best luck when it comes to movie adaptations. Fox tried to reboot the franchise a few years ago, but after the movie tanked at the box office, the sequel quietly disappeared from the studio’s release schedule, and Fox has yet to announce plans for a new film.
It was recently reported that Fox is interested selling their movie studio, and a number of big companies are interested in purchasing it. Depending on what happens, the game could change for the Fantastic Four, and a “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” star has their eyes on one of the group’s most iconic villains.
Ben Mendelhson recently joined MTV’s Happy Sad Confused Podcast, and he admitted that Doctor Doom is his dream role.
“Doctor Doom is the greatest comic character of all time. That’s a great role. The thing that’s appealing about Victor is the damage and trauma, the loss of the family, the wrong done to him and then the takeover, the revenge, and then the protectiveness of Latveria wrapped in that Cold War vibe. There’s something about the combination of that. What actually makes him great is his caring bit.”
