“Deadpool 2” is expected to hit theaters in 2018 and Zazie Beetz recently signed on to play Domino in the film. The pieces are falling into place for the highly anticipated sequel, but everyone’s still wondering who will end up playing Cable.
Brad Pitt is a name that’s been making the rounds in regards to the Cable casting, and a new report from Collider claims that he was closer to taking the role than some might think.
According to the report there was interest from both the studio and Pitt in regards to him taking on the role, but he has since moved on. However, the casting process for the role is still underway, so it’s always possible that he could be brought back into the fold in the future.
It’s believed that Pitt may be busy working on “World War Z 2” in the near future if the sequel comes to fruition, and signing on as Cable would likely require him to commit to more films such as a X-Force movie or a possible Cable standalone.
There have been quite a few names attached to the character, but it was recently reported by Variety that Michael Shannon is currently the frontrunner. “Stranger Things” star David Harbour is also reportedly still in the mix.
