He later clarified that the executives only know people working on the production, and that they aren’t involved with the film themselves. His comments quickly picked up traction online, and although some fans may be concerned about the film, actor Joe Manganiello has placed his confidence in Ben Affleck.

Joe Manganiello will be playing Deathstroke in the film, and he recently spoke with Mark Madden, and he talked a little bit about the movie on his podcast. According to Manganiello, the movie will take Batman films down a road they’ve never traveled.

“It is. That’s true. When I met Ben we sat down and we talked about, you know, the role. We talked about the movie. His take is a fresh take but I think the audience is going to be surprised. Because it’s a road that no one’s really gone down that’s completely integral to, you know, who Batman is,” Manganiello said via Reddit. “And I think it’s gonna be refreshing but at the same time completely familiar. But it’s going to take this franchise in a direction that I think A LOT of people are going to be really happy about.”

“It’s going to be gritty and action packed and cerebral and all of those elements that people love about Batman. Ben’s a great director, man. I mean the last movie that man directed won best picture. He’s got an Oscar for writing. Like, this is all the components to go down as a… everything is lined up for a really really really great movie. Not only a superhero movie but just a great great movie. Which is why, you know, I told him in the room man, when I met him. “I should be so lucky, I’d be in great hands to work with you, I love your movies, let’s do this.”

Ben Affleck’s Batman film still doesn’t have an official release date, but Manganiello noted during the podcast appearance that it’s set to start shooting next year.

The video features a 27 second clip that shows off footage of Deathstroke. The clip shows a man in full Deathstroke gear walking toward the camera, and then it focuses on his eye, but it’s hard to tell who is under the mask.

Deathstroke is a fan favorite and everyone knew that he would be appearing in the DCEU sooner or later, but so far DC haven’t made any official casting announcements in regards to who will be playing Slade Wilson.

The clip that Affleck shared doesn’t give much away, other than the fact that it looks like Deathstroke is joining the DCEU, but it’s an exciting clip nonetheless and you can check it out below.

Affleck is currently filming “Justice League” so given the timing of this reveal it looks like we could be seeing Deathstroke make an appearance in the film.

Ben was recently asked by EW what he thinks his legacy as Batman will be. He responded by saying that it’s really not for him to decide. He went on to talk about how his version of Batman is unique when compared to the others. He brought up Christopher Nolan’s Batman films calling them “the defining Batmans.” Hhen noted how in the world Nolan created, Batman was the only superhero that existed in that universe.

“What I wanted was to create a Batman that was sort of at the end of his rope physically and psychologically and emotionally, a guy who was beaten down by the world, a guy who was a little bit more of a slugger, who has more gray in his hair, and who was questioning whether the whole journey that he lived as Batman was in fact even worth it, given that he was not superhero, but now had to face a super-being, which none of the other Batmans had to confront in the movie world. It’s an interesting thing to combine, because in the Nolan Batmans, which are the defining Batmans — so magnificent — there are no other superheroes. It’s just this guy. He never has to reconcile who he is with this idea that there are all these other people who can do these supernatural things. Having to confront that and having to deal with that is my contribution to the character.” Ben Affleck told EW.

Everybody’s got their favorite Batman films and it looks like for Affleck it’s the Nolan movies. But as he pointed out, the world of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is going to be very different when compared to the world we saw in “The Dark Knight.”

“Batman v Superman” is on the way, “Justice League” starts filming in April and we’re all wondering when we’ll see another Batman solo film. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing one as soon as we would like. Ben Affleck told EW that the movie is “in development” but that he’s focusing on other projects first.

“There’s definitely willingness and a will and a desire to make a Batman movie on the part of Warner Brothers. It’s in development, and right now I’m really focused on finishing Live By Night. That’s where my focus is, and I tend to be a one movie at a time guy. So, when I’m finished with this movie, I’ll then focus on my next movie and figure out what that will be.” Affleck said.

Affleck teamed up with the charity organization Omaze to put together a new video which features Batman himself hiding out in the Batmobile. Ben patiently waits inside the car as fans are taking a tour and and looking at the vehicle. But when he hears fans start talking about how Superman is a better character than Batman, that’s when he decides he’s heard enough and opens up the Batmobile.

It’s pretty funny seeing the fan’s reactions as they ask Ben Affleck if he’s real or not. One lucky fan even gets to hop into the Batmobile and go for a ride around the studio lot.

The best part is that he didn’t just rewrite the script, he reportedly rewrote the script while wearing his Batman suit. A source reached out to US Weekly and claimed that Ben would get “all suited up” and rework the script because he “wasn’t thrilled with it.” The report goes on to mention that Affleck fixed the script “day of” on “multiple occasions.”

So yeah, that’s a pretty hilarious image. Ben Affleck just sitting at a desk in his Batman costume furiously typing away at a MacBook. Wait, is Ben Affleck a MacBook guy? No, he’s a PC guy. Wait, nope. Definitely MacBook.

Anyway, although the story is funny, you have to wonder what was in the original script that he wasn’t thrilled about, and did he change it for the better? As we mentioned earlier, Affleck is an award winning screenwriter so there’s really no reason to believe that any alterations he might have made won’t benefit the film. But we all know that rewrites can sometimes make a film feel disjointed and uneven.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” hits theaters next month. So soon we’ll all be able to find out if the Batsuit took Ben Affleck’s writing to the next level.

Affleck and Henry Cavill also talked about how Batman facing off against Superman isn’t a fair fight. When asked how Batman had any chance of winning Affleck joked that he has to take advantage of the fact that Superman is a good guy.

Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill have been very busy promoting “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” lately. They also recently appeared during the NBA All-Star pre-game show panel on Sunday where Affleck described his Batman as “broken.”

“He’s a little over the hill. He’s broken. He’s kind of given up. When Superman shows up, he’s so powerful that he threatens everything Batman believes in and it leads to this conflict.” Affleck told the panel.

Latino Review is reporting that one of their sources has reached out to them claiming Deadshot might be making an appearance in Ben Affleck’s Batman film. The report goes on to mention that it would be for a “major role” and a “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” type scenario. Although the report mentions that the rumor is unconfirmed, it also speculates that Ben Affleck’s Batman film could be another big film event the likes of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” as opposed to being a strictly solo Batman film.

“One of the interesting things about Batman is he functions in some ways as an antagonist,” Affleck said. “You have to remember, this is Batman versus Superman.” The characters don’t get along from the start, thanks to Affleck’s Bruce Wayne witnessing the destruction in Metropolis during “Man of Steel.”

The trailers so far have been a pretty good indication that Batman is not happy with how Superman is conducting business on planet Earth. But according to Ben Affleck, those that are close to Bruce Wayne feel he might be going off the deep end.

“He’s found himself in a place of harboring a tremendous amount of rage for Superman. So it’s how he got there, and what that’s done to him, and what that’s done to people around him like Alfred, who are, I think, very scared and worried for him. It’s something that’s interesting and new.” Affleck added.

Super hero movies are all the rage right now and Batman is arguably the most popular super hero of all time. With that being said, people are often critical of characters rebooting and coming back to the big screen so soon. However Ben Affleck is reassuring fans that his Batman will be one worth watching and a fresh take on the Character.

“I got really inspired what he was doing. If I felt we were trying to do the same thing that those guys have done beforehand with Christian, I probably would have shied away. But because it’s within the Batman canon, but a very different take on the character, I thought, ‘Maybe it’s not too soon.’” Ben Affleck said.
