If you’ve been waiting patiently for “The Flash” to return then you’re probably well aware that the wait is almost over. There’s less than two weeks to go until the show returns, and the return of “The Flash” can’t come soon enough because the midseason finale set up a very interesting story arc for the rest of the season.

In the finale Barry Allen traveled to the future and saw Savitar kill Iris West, and when the show returns Team Flash will be trying to uncover all of the events that take place leading up to the moment that Iris meets her end. Although Jay Garrick warned Barry not to mess with the future, we all know Barry never listens, and when the show returns the team will be learning even more about what’s to come.
“Whether they do get out of it is the question,” producer Andrew Kreisberg told EW. “In an upcoming episode, they learn a little bit more about the future and they now have a list of things they know will occur between now and May. Their operating principle is can they stop enough of these things to change time? They have a little bit of a road map. It reminds me of Oliver’s list. They’ve got a mission every week to see if they can change the future.”
Barry Allen seems to have a real knack for messing up timelines, so one has to wonder if Team Flash and their investigations into the future won’t end up ruining the future even more. Given Barry Allen’s history of getting things wrong on the show, all signs point to the answer being yes.
“The Flash” returns on Tuesday, January 24.
