Stephen Amell and former WWE star Cody Rhodes had quite the rivalry last year. At the time Cody Rhodes was using his Stardust gimmick, and he taunted Stephen Amell for months until eventually the rivalry culminated in a match at SummerSlam. Amell teamed up with Neville to take on Stardust and King Barrett, and in the end it was Stephen Amell’s team that got the victory.
Stephen Amell and Cody Rhodes will be crossing paths once again in the future, but next time it won’t be in a wrestling ring. Cody Rhodes recently left WWE and he’s also dropped the Stardust gimmick. Shortly after his departure Cody issued a statement talking about his future and how he wanted to continue wrestling, but he also teased that he may explore acting as well.
Earlier today at Heroes & Villains FanFest in Secaucus, New Jersey Stephen Amell announced that Cody Rhodes will be making an appearance on “Arrow” season 5. The “Arrow” star didn’t divulge any details about who Cody will be playing but he noted that it will guest-star in at least one episode next season.
Cody Rhodes won’t be the first former WWE star to make his way into the “Arrowverse.” WWE Hall of Famer Edge landed himself a guest spot in the series two premiere of “The Flash” last year when he made an appearance as Atom Smasher.
“Arrow” will return for season 5 on the CW on Wednesday, October 5th.
