“Supergirl” is joining the CW for season 2 and that means the possibilities for crossovers are wide open.
It’s already been confirmed that “Supergirl” will be part of a four part crossover involving “Arrow,” “The Flash,” and DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow.” However, there’s still a lot of questions that need to be answered in regards to how the crossover is going to work.
Barry Allen made an appearance on “Supergirl” season 1 and it was established that Kara Danvers comes from a different world outside of what the “Arrowverse” refers to as Earth-1. According to a new rumor it looks like the events of “Flashpoint” will merge her world with Earth-1.
A new rumor from Bleeding Cool claims that “Supergirl” will become a part of the main DC TV universe via “Flashpoint” and Barry Allen will be the only one who knows that she was once part of a separate world. The events of “Flashpoint” will also be used to wipe away any continuity issues that might come up due to the merge.
As far as the upcoming crossover goes, producer Greg Berlanti said that he hopes to establish one threat that will unify all of the characters.
“I’m going to probably try to have one unifying threat, as opposed to different things on different ones, which is what the first year was,” Berlanti told EW.
On a related note, Stephen Amell recently teased the upcoming crossover with a simple picture of some familiar looking boots.
