“Arrow” will be returning in the fall and the Internet is buzzing because everyone is trying to figure out who the Green Arrow will be facing off against in season 5. We’ve received very little information so far, but Stephen Amell has said that as far as he knows the villain does not have super powers.
TVLine has the scoop on a casting call that was put out for the villain who has been tentatively named “Anton Church.” He will be looking to fill the void that was left after Damien Darhk failed to take over Star City, and the casting notice describes the villain as an “apex predator” who “cuts his way through the shadows” by taking down “the biggest threat first.”
The villain is said to be loosely inspired by Idris Elba’s character from “The Wire” and Jason Momoa’s character from “Game of Thrones.”
Things certainly seem to be heating up for “Arrow” season 5 as it was reported yesterday that a new vigilante who’s being described as a “cocksure/reckless ex-Marine” will also be coming to Star City. Producer Wendy Mericle has also teased that the flashbacks will take place in Russia next season so there are definitely a few reasons for “Arrow” fans to be excited.
